Abstract:
A facial detection device of the present invention is provided with: an image capture means for capturing an image of the face of a subject; an irradiation means for irradiating the subject's face with detection light, which has a bright portion of intensity equal to or greater than a first threshold value and a dark portion of intensity less than a second threshold value smaller than the first threshold value, from an irradiation direction forming a prescribed angle with the optical axis of the image capture means, such irradiation performed so that the boundary of the bright portion and the dark portion of the detection light is positioned on the subject's face; and an article of wear detection means for detecting an article of wear worn on the subject's face, on the basis of an irregular shape of the boundary of the detection light in the facial image captured by the image capture means.
