Abstract:
Provided are a facial region detection device, image-capturing device, facial region detection method, and facial region detection program that are capable of performing a facial region detection process via a light load. A system control unit 11 of a digital camera 100 has a function for detecting a facial region in a captured image outputted by an image-capturing element 5. Using a facial region 30 detected from a first captured image G1 as a reference image, a similar region 33 similar to a specific image 31 constituting a portion of the reference image is retrieved from a second captured image G2 outputted after the first captured image G1, and a first region 32 of the same size as the reference image and including the similar region 33 of the second captured image G2 is detected as a facial region. The position of the specific image 31 in the reference image matches the position of the similar region 33 in the first region 32.
