Abstract:

A fail determination device for vehicle automatic transmissions comprises: a monitor unit (121) that monitors values of a current supplied to solenoid valves (32S, 33S); an electrical abnormality detection unit (124) that detects an occurrence of electrical abnormality in the solenoid valves (32S, 33S) by the monitored current values differing from command current values to the solenoid valves (32S, 33S); a first abnormality determination unit (125A) that determines, after an electrical abnormality is detected, a solenoid valve power supply fault abnormality or disconnection abnormality from a selected gear stage and the state of a transmission mechanism (30); and a second abnormality determination unit (125B) that determines, after an electrical abnormality is detected, a solenoid valve power supply fault abnormality or disconnection abnormality from the monitored current values when the solenoid valve is off.
