Abstract:
The invention relates to a fall prevention device serving at the same time as an auxiliary device for climbing posts, trees and the like which make it easier to climb a tree, a post or the like while at the same time provide effective protection against falling. The climber carries a safety harness to which a holding rope is fixed. A connecting element with two rope loops is located in the area of the post opposite to the climber. Beginning with a fixing device located on the safety harness, the holding rope is initially guided towards the back through the first loop and then towards the front around the mast and from where is it again guided towards the back trough the second loop towards the second fixing device of the safety harness. The connecting element makes it possible to completely surround the post. If the climber looses grip, the loop is tighten and clings to the mast thereby effectively preventing the climber for falling down.
