Abstract:
A fall prevention device is provided in which a ceiling-side base unit can be mounted without necessitating fine directional adjustment. This fall prevention device (1) is provided with a damper (10), an object-side base unit (30A) which is linked to the bottom end of the damper (10) and which contacts and is mounted on the upper surface of an object (a piece of furniture (F)), and a ceiling-side base unit (30B) which is linked to the upper end of the damper (10) and which contacts and is mounted on the ceiling (C). The ceiling-side base unit (30B) has a contact surface (137A) that contacts the ceiling (C), and the shape of the outer edge of said contact surface has n-fold rotational symmetry, n being a natural number greater than or equal to 3. Further, a linking part (40B) between the damper (10) and the ceiling-side base unit (30B) is arranged on the imaginary line (L1) that passes through the center of the contact surface (137A) and is perpendicular to the contact surface (137A).
