A fan assembly (100), comprising a volute (110), a rotor (12), a plurality of silencing ports (112), a housing (130), and a noise reduction cavity (140). The volute defines an accommodating cavity. The rotor is located in the accommodating cavity. The plurality of first silencing ports are spaced on the volute, and each first silencing port is communicated with the accommodating cavity. The housing is connected to the volute. The noise reduction cavity is located between the volute and the housing, and the noise reduction cavity is communicated with the first silencing ports, wherein the noise reduction cavity is at least partially located on the side of the volute away from the central axis of the rotor. A resonance silencing system formed by the volute and the housing has a small influence on the pneumatic performance of the rotor, and in addition, because a silencing surface of the resonance silencing system is tightly attached to a pneumatic noise source, better sound absorption and noise reduction effects are achieved. Also disclosed is a household appliance.
