A fan, comprising a tower (1), a hub (2), blades, a transmission device and a power generation device. The blades each comprise a blade main body (3) and a blade extension portion (4) connected to the blade main body (3), the blade extension portion (4) comprising an open end portion at one end and a closed tip portion at the other end, the tip portion bending and extending perpendicularly to the axial extending direction of the blade, and the bending direction extending towards a windward face of the blade during working, a blade tip of the blade extension portion (4) being provided bent, solving the problem of large deflection at the tip portion due to an excessive length of the blade, and avoiding the blades contacting the tower and damaging the tower or the blades. A fan retrofitting method retrofits existing fan blades, adds the blade extension portions (4), increasing the length of the blades, and increasing the power outputted by a wind power generator unit, thereby increasing the power generation amount. This retrofitting method saves time, labor, and costs.
