Abstract:
A confectionery product has an outer dry powder coating layer that includes a flavor encapsulated with a water-soluble encapsulant. The encapsulated flavor, being included in the outermost coating of the product, is immediately released when the product is placed in the mouth, giving a very quick initial flavor impact.
