Abstract:
A fastener chain is configured in such a manner that tape folded sections (22) of fastener tapes (20, 20') are folded inward with first tape surfaces inside, and that engagement head sections (32) of rows (30) of elements are disposed so as to protrude to the outside of the tapes from the tape folded sections (22). Element mounting sections (23, 23') of the fastener tapes (20, 20') have first tape regions (24) which are in contact with lower leg sections (34) of the rows (30) of elements, and also have second tape regions (25) which enclose connection sections (35) and upper leg sections (33) of the rows (30) of elements and which expose the first tape surfaces to the outside. The upper and lower leg sections (33, 34) of the rows (30) of elements are sewn by sewing threads (38) to the first tape regions (24) and the second tape regions (25) of the element mounting sections (23, 23'). When left and right rows (30) of elements have been engaged with each other, mutually facing tape side edges (20a, 20a') of the left and right element mounting sections (23, 23') are in contact with each other. As a result, in the fastener chain, the entire rows (30) of elements are stably hidden by the element mounting sections (23, 23') without the use of cover bodies so that the rows (30) of elements cannot be seen from the outside. Thus, the configuration can improve the appearance of the fastener chain and can cause the element mounting sections (23, 23') to appear as three dimensional objects such as beaded edges.
