Abstract:
According to the present invention, the quantity of water repellent is optimized so as to combine water repellency with flexibility in a fastener chain and a sliding fastener. The fastener chain and sliding fastener are assumed to comprise: a pair of tapes 5 comprising fibers; a pair of element rows 6 secured to and engaged with the pair of tapes; and organic polymer and non-fluorinated water-repellent components, wherein the organic polymer and non-fluorinated water-repellent components adhere to the pair of tapes internally, that is, get into the gaps between the fibers, proceeding from the front surface to the back surface of the pair of tapes, and the organic polymer and non-fluorinated water-repellent components do not substantially adhere to the element rows through a gap 5s between the pair of tapes.
