Abstract:

This fastener element (20, 20a, 50, 50a) comprises a central land part (21, 51) and first and second bulging parts (22, 52; 23, 23a, 53, 53a) which bulge from the central land part (21, 51) toward the tape obverse side and the tape reverse side in the element thickness direction. The first and second bulging parts (22, 52; 23, 23a, 53, 53a) each comprise a bulging end face (24, 54) which faces the element thickness direction. The bulging end face (24, 54) comprises a quadrilateral base end face (24a, 54a) which is long in the element length direction and a taper-shaped protrusion end face (24b, 54b) which protrudes from the base end face (24a, 54a) in the element width direction. Thus, it is possible to make the fastener element (20, 20a, 50, 50a) look like a single-sided metal element, and to make a slide fastener (1) which is formed using the fastener elements (20, 20a, 50, 50a) lighter in weight than a conventional slide fastener having single-sided metal elements.
