Abstract:
A fastener (10) is configured such that when a pin (14) is pressed into a grommet (12), a guide element (56) formed at the tip of the pin (14) contacts a guided element (42) of the grommet (12) and a leg part (34) of a leg (28) of the grommet (12) bends and is expanded. The guided element (42) of the leg part (34) of the leg (28) of the grommet (12) is then engaged with the top end (56A) of the guide element (56) of the pin (14). The guide element (56) of the pin (14) is a curved surface having a varying tangent angle (θ) to the axis line (14B) at the point of contact (P1) with the guided element (42), extending from the external periphery of the tip (14A) of the pin (14) toward the top end (56A), the insertion force (S) into the grommet (12) of the pin (14) at each point of contact (P1) being held roughly constant.
