Description:
Fastening device for fastening a reflector and/or rear light for a bike The invention relates to a fastening device for fastening a reflector and/or rear light to a bike under the seat, where longitudinal fastening rails are located.

At present, reflectors and rear lights are fastened to the rack, mudguard or seat of a bike using different kinds of fastening devices, in which screws are used. Thus, tools are needed for the fastening and detachment of reflectors and rear lights. The object of the invention is to provide such as fastening device for fastening a reflec- tor or rear light that does not require a tool. It is characteristic of the fastening de- vice of the invention that the fastening device consists of flexible material, such as plastics, provided with notches and flexible projections which connect to the fasten- ing rails as the reflector/rear light has been installed to the bike. Because of the flexible projections, the reflector/rear light is pressed fast to the fastening rails of the seat so that it remains tightly in place.

It is characteristic of an embodiment of the invention that the fastening device is of a triangular shape so that the base of the triangle is up, the tip of the triangle point- ing downwards, and that the fastening notches are located at the ends of the base, and the reflector/rear light unit is attached to the tip of the triangle. This kind of and thus shaped a fastening device with its reflector/rear light unit fits well under the seat and above the rear wheel or its mudguard.

It is characteristic of a second embodiment of the invention that the one notch points to the side and the other notch upwards. Thus, the distance between the fastening rails can vary a few millimetres, because the notch pointing to the side makes this possible.

It is characteristic of a third embodiment of the invention that the fastening device is a plate with a thickness of about 1 cm. The fastening device, which consists of plas- I tics, is thus provided with sufficient stiffness so that the reflector/rear light remains tightly in place.

The invention is next explained in more detail, referring to the enclosed drawings, in which Figure 1 shows the fastening device with its reflectors, detached from the seat, and

Figure 2 is similar to Figure 1 with the exception that the fastening device with its reflectors is attached to the fastening rails of the seat.

The fastening device 1 consists of flexible material, such as plastics, with notches 2, 3 and flexible projections 4,5, which are connected to the fastening rails 7 of the seat as the fastening device with reflectors 8 is installed to the bike. The fastening device 1 is of a triangular shape so that the base of the triangle is up and the tip of the triangle points downwards. The fastening notches 2,3 are located at the ends of the flange, and the reflector unit 8 is fastened to the tip of the triangle. The one notch 2 in the fastening device 1 points to the side, the second notch 3 pointing up- wards. As the fastening device with its reflectors is installed in place, the one notch 2 is first pushed to the one fastening rail 7, and the fastening device is then turned upwards so that the second notch 3 is connected to the second fastening rail 3. The fastening device 1 with its reflectors 8 is thus fastened under the seat 6, as is shown in Figure 2.
