Abstract:
This fat measurement device 1 comprises: a head part 3 including a first light-emitting diode part 9 that has a center wavelength within the range of 920-940 nm inclusive, and a second light-emitting diode part 11 that has a center wavelength in a light emission spectrum narrower than that of the first light-emitting diode part 9, the head part 3 synthesizing the light generated by the first light-emitting diode part 9 and the light generated by the second light-emitting diode part 11 and irradiating a subject S with the resulting light as irradiation light; a spectroscope 5a that disperses measurement light produced by the subject S; a light detector 5b that detects the measurement light dispersed by the spectroscope 5a and outputs spectrum data pertaining to the measurement light; and a control device 5c that calculates information pertaining to a fat level on the basis of the spectrum data; the fat measurement device 1 being configured such that the intensity of the light generated by the second light-emitting diode part 11 is less than the intensity of the light generated by the first light-emitting diode part 9.
