Abstract:
An electric-vehicle fault detection system, and more particularly a fault detection system in a torque control system of an electric vehicle is provided, comprising a first electric-vehicle controller (21) and a second electric-vehicle controller (22). The first electric-vehicle controller (21) is configured to send a control signal to the second electric-vehicle controller (22) and to send a second signal to the second electric-vehicle controller (22), the second signal being a pulse width modulated signal comprising the same information as the control signal. The second electric-vehicle controller (22) is configured to receive the control signal and the second signal from the first electric-vehicle controller (21), to compare information from the signals in order to determine a deviation between the signals, and to determine whether there is a vehicle fault based on the determined deviation between the signals. A corresponding method and computer program product are also provided.
