Abstract:
A fault protection method for a phase-shifted full-bridge converter using an isolation transformer gate drive, comprising: reading data of an output voltage, data of an output current and data of a gate drive power supply voltage of a phase-shifted full-bridge converter in real time, and respectively comparing the read three items of data with respective setting values thereof, wherein the setting values are an upper limit value of the output voltage, an upper limit value of the output current, and upper and lower limit values of the gate drive power supply voltage which are set artificially to guarantee the stable and reliable operation of the converter and written in a microprocessor according to the actual working environment of the bridge converter. Protection is triggered so long as any one of the three items of data exceeds the range of the setting value thereof, and the protection is conducted in four steps: (1) cutting off a power source input; (2) outputting an empty duty ratio; (3) outputting a minimum duty ratio; and (4) closing a gate drive signal to complete a protection action. The fault protection method is rapid in response speed, and can effectively prolong the service life of a switch tube, thereby improving the reliability and stability of a bridge converter.
