Abstract:
A tape feeder according to the present invention is provided with a guiding member 55 between a reel and a component supply position PP, the guiding member 55 including a travel surface 71 on which a carrier tape 61 travels and side walls 72 erected on both sides thereof. The travel surface 71 of the guiding member 55 is formed of a tilted surface that is tilted in a width direction (orthogonal direction orthogonal to the feed direction of the carrier tape 61) at an inlet section. By doing so, the tape feeder can advance and carry the carrier tape 61, which is extracted from the reel, on the travel surface 71 such that the carrier tape 61 is tilted in the width direction at the inlet section of the guiding member 55. This can suppress the friction between the carrier tape 61 and the guiding member 55 because of gaps provided between the lateral sections of the carrier tape 61 and the side walls 72.
