The present invention relates to the technical field of shrimp production, and particularly relates to a feeding device for shrimp production and a method. The feeding device comprises: a directional conveying device capable of adjusting the conveying posture of a shrimp body and conveying the shrimp body with the heads or the tails in front; a shrimp body recognition system provided on the directional conveying device; a shrimp puncturing device provided above the directional conveying device, wherein the shrimp puncturing device comprises a flipping mechanism and a needling mechanism, and the flipping mechanism is connected to the needling mechanism so as to drive the needling mechanism to rotate in a horizontal direction; a straight shrimp stopping block, wherein the straight shrimp stopping block is provided with a straight shrimp end surface opposite to the shrimp body moving direction of the shrimp puncturing device; and a shrimp body limiting block, wherein a shrimp body limiting groove for embedding the shrimp body is formed in the shrimp body limiting block. Shrimp body features comprise a shrimp head orientation, a shrimp body extension direction, and the body segment position of the shrimp body. The present invention achieves the automatic production of the shrimp body, and does not need manual grabbing, placing, and feeding, and thus improves the production efficiency.
