Abstract:

This female contact, which comprises a sheet material on which bending has been performed, comprises the following: a socket section that accommodates a male contact; a terminal section to which an electrical wire is connected; and an intermediate section that joins the socket section and the terminal section. The intermediate section has a U-shaped section that has a U-shaped cross-section and an extending section that extends away from the U shape from the widthwise edge of one end thereof via a 90° bend. The tip of the extending section is attached to the abovementioned socket section, and the other end of the U shape is attached to the abovementioned terminal section. The U-shaped section and the extending section are both narrower than a spring prong in the socket section that contacts the male contact. Even if a force is applied due to vibration or the like, movement of the part where contact is made with the male contact is minimized, preventing rubbing-caused contact problems.
