Abstract:
Disclosed is a synthetic resin female snap button (10, 60) for detachably receiving a projection (42) of a male snap button (40) into a projection receiving section (21, 71). A thick section (23, 73, 83, 93) having a relatively greater thickness from the inner peripheral surface toward the outside in the radial direction and a thin section (24, 74, 84, 94) having a thickness less than that of the thick section (23, 73, 83, 93) are alternately provided in the circumferential direction to an annular protuberance section (20, 70) rising from the root section (11, 61) and defining the projection receiving section (21, 71). With this, the flexibility of the thick section (23, 73, 83, 93) of the annular protuberance section (20, 70) in the radial direction is low, and that of the thin section (24, 74, 84, 94) is high. Therefore, when the projection (42) of the male snap button (40) is fitted/removed into/from the projection receiving section (21, 71), the thick section (23, 73, 84, 94) of the annular protuberance section (20, 70) elastically deforms relatively little and the thin section (24, 74, 84, 94) elastically deforms relatively easily. As a result, a high accuracy of the flexibility of the annular protuberance section (20, 70) is not required, and the production of the male snap button (10, 60) is facilitated. A relatively high removal resistance of the projection receiving section (21, 71) against the projection (42) can be maintained, simultaneously the fitting/removing forces needed to fit/remove the projection (42) into/from the projection receiving section (21, 71) can be reduced, and variations of the removal resistance and the fitting/removing forces in the circumferential direction are not easily caused.
