Abstract:
Provided are fence-like ascent and descent devices which contribute to preventing a situation where passengers standing by on a train platform fall to the foot of the platform. The upper portions of predetermined ascent and descent devices (10) composed of a plurality of cylinders or the like are fixed to a beam (401). In this state, the beam (401) is fixed to posts (501) by means of brackets (502) or the like. The plurality of ascent and descent devices (10), which are arranged in parallel so as to match the platform, are shortened or extended starting at the upper portions of the ascent and descent devices (10).
