Provided is a fender (6) that comprises: a fender body (2) that is composed of a rubber material, which is an airtight flexible material, and that has a bag-like shape that is filled with a gas; and a fender protective member (11) that is attached to an outer peripheral surface (3) of the fender body (2) (outer peripheral surface (8) of the fender (6)). The fender protective member (11) comprises: cushioning bodies (21a-21h) that are composed of polyurethane foam, which is a foam material, and that can be colored in any color; and an adhesive (36), which is an attachment means (31) that is for attaching the cushioning bodies (21a-21h) to the outer peripheral surface (8) of the fender (6). Due to the foregoing configuration, the cushioning properties of the cushioning bodies (21a-21h) are improved, and therefore the cushioning properties of the entire fender are improved. In addition, since the color of the cushioning bodies (21a-21h) can be chosen so as to match the color of the vessel, color migration to the vessel is not noticeable.
