Abstract:
Ferrite particles which are mainly composed of a material represented by composition formula MXFe3-XO4 (wherein M represents at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Mg, Mn, Ca, Ti, Cu, Zn, Sr and Ni, and 0 < X < 1), and which are characterized in that the maximum height (Rz) of the particles is within the range of 1.40-1.90 and the skewness (Rsk) of the particles is within the range of from -0.25 to -0.07. Consequently, in cases where the ferrite particles are used as carriers in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the occurrence of failure is suppressed for a long period of time even if the image formation rate is increased.
