Abstract:

The invention provides a ferritic stainless steel plate which permits punching and shearing without generating burrs and a process for the production of the same. Specifically, a process which comprises hot-rolling a slab having a composition which contains C: 0.0030 to 0.012% by mass, Si: 0.13% by mass or below; Mn: 0.25% by mass or below; P: 0.04% by mass or below, S: 0.005% by mass or below, Al: 0.06% by mass or below, N: 0.0030 to 0.012% by mass, Cr: 20.5 to 23.5% by mass, Cu: 0.3 to 0.6% by mass, Ni: 0.5% by mass or below, Nb: 0.3 to 0.5% by mass and Ti: 0.05 to 0.15% by mass with the balance consisting Fe and unavoidable impurities at a finishing temperature of 900°C or above and a coiling temperature of 400 to 550°C, subjecting the obtained hot-rolled steel plate to softening annealing and pickling successively, and then cold-rolling the resulting plate.
