Abstract:
Disclosed are a wheat fertility-related gene, TaMS8, and an application method thereof, which belong to the field of biotechnology. A male sterile material controlled by a recessive single gene is obtained by means of phenotypic screening and genetic analysis of an EMS mutagenesis library, then, the wheat fertility-related gene TaMS8 is obtained by means of a Mutmap method, and plant fertility is regulated by adjusting the expression of the gene, thereby producing and maintaining wheat male sterile lines and preparing hybrid seeds, which has important theoretical and practical significance for establishing efficient wheat hybrid seed production techniques, and studying wheat male sterility mechanism and heterosis.
