Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a fiber-reinforced plastic having a high fiber content despite having a complicated shape. To this end, the present invention provides a fiber-reinforced plastic containing fibers and resin, the gist of the invention being that: the fibers have an average length of 5 to 50 mm; the fiber volume content in a local region (hereinafter the fiber volume content is represented by Vf), when a population with respect thereto is obtained, has an average value of 40 to 65%; the population has a fluctuation coefficient of 0.15 to 0.4; and, when the population is represented by a histogram having ten classes, and when a peak value corresponds to a class having a greater frequency than the frequencies of adjacent classes to the left and right, the fiber reinforced plastic has a plurality of peak values. When a local region having a diameter of 100 μm is extracted from a cross-sectional image of the fiber-reinforced plastic (population regarding Vf), a value obtained by dividing the total area of the fibers contained in the local region by the area of the local region and multiplying the result by 100 is Vf. A plurality of local regions are extracted, and an aggregate of Vf in each of the local regions is assumed as a population.
