Abstract:
A fiber-treating agent which contains a chitosan zirconium salt obtained by ionically bonding chitosan with a zirconium salt. By treating fibers with this treating agent, chitosan can be ionically bonded to the fibers. The fibers thus treated have the high ability to hold the chitosan fixed thereto and have satisfactory antibacterial and heat-reserving properties imparted thereto. These effects are maintained for long even when the fibers are repeatedly laundered.
