Abstract:

The present invention is a fiber-treating agent that contains an ester compound represented by general formula (1): R1-O-((EO)l-(PO)m)-(EO)n-CO-R2 [wherein R1 is a C8-24 hydrocarbon group; R2 is alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl, each having 7 to 23 carbon atoms; EO is ethyleneoxy; PO is propyleneoxy; l and n each represent the average number of moles of added ethyleneoxy, l being a number of 0 to 15 and n being a number of 1 to 20; m represents the average number of moles of added propyleneoxy, and is a number of 0.5 to 20; in the ((EO)l-(PO)m) segment, the (EO) and (PO) units may be added at random or in blocks; and the((EO)l-(PO)m) segment and the (EO)n segment are added in blocks in this order].
