Abstract:
Provided are a fiber treatment agent for high-pressure water flow interlacing, and short fibers using the treatment agent, with which it is possible to impart convergence to the fibers and reduce foaming during a nonwoven fabric manufacturing step using a high-pressure water flow interlacing method. A fiber treatment agent for high-pressure water flow interlacing, the fiber treatment agent including a component (A) and a component (B), wherein the component (A) is a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether, and the component (B) is a fatty acid triglyceride. At least 50 wt% of the constituent fatty acid of the fatty acid triglyceride is preferably a C12-22 fatty acid. The total proportion by weight of the non-volatile content of the treatment agent accounted for by the component (A) and the component (B) is preferably at least 15 wt%.
