Abstract:
Provided is a fibroin-like protein production method. A fibroin-like protein can be produced by a fibroin-like protein production method comprising culturing an Escherichia coli cell that carries a gene encoding the fibroin-like protein in a culture medium, inducing the expression of the gene encoding the fibroin-like protein, and collecting the fibroin-like protein, said method being characterized in that the proliferation of the cell is decreased after the induction of the expression.
