Title:
FIBROUS ELONGATED STRUCTURE, ESPECIALLY A SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCT FOR THE TEXTILE SPINNING INDUSTRY, A METHOD OF OBTAINING SAID STRUCTURE AND A DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT THE SAID METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1995/006766
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The proposed fibrous elongated structure, which is intended primarily for the textile spinning industry, together with the method of obtaining the said structure and a device for carrying out the said method, will widen the range of applications of the structure in both ring spinning and non-ring spinning, which in turn will make it possible to integrate the machinery used in spinning processes. The proposed structure consists of straightened fibres which are oriented along the structure's axis. The fibres are gathered in a flat fibre bundle (22) which is twisted in a cylindrical helix and covered with a winding layer (23). Part of the layer (23) is wound counter to the direction of twist of the fibre bundle (22). The poposed device comprises a hollow housing (1) with inlet and outlet apertures (2 and 3 respectively); a guide duct (4); a conical cowl arranged in the space in the housing (1) with a gap (6) between itself and the wall, coaxially with the housing, and able to rotate axially; a condensing unit (8) which can rotate about the axis (7) which it shares with the cowl (5); a chamber which communicates with a suction pump sytem and whose hollow space (9) adjoins the non-working side of the condensing unit (8); a doffing area (11); and a pair of output rollers (14). The device is provided with a twisting unit (15) between the doffing area (11) and the pair of output rollers (14), and with a system for the asymmetric displacement of the fibre as it is fed into the hollow in the housing (1). The condensing unit (8) is in the form of a flattened ring whose outer diameter is greater than that of the base of the cowl (5), while its inner diameter does not exceed the latter. The condensing unit (8) is mounted at the base of the cowl (5), its working surface facing the inlet aperture (2) and its inner perimeter abutting on the generatrix of the surface of the cowl (5). The outlet aperture (3) is situated in the side wall of the housing (1) at the base of the latter and offset on the periphery of the housing (1) with respect to the central section of the doffing area (11) in the direction of rotation of the condensing unit (8).
