Abstract:
A fibrous mass obtained by applying a voltage between a feeding-side electrode and a receiving-side electrode to give charges to a resin in a molten state, electro-spinning the charged resin to thereby elongate the resin and obtain an ultrafine composite fiber, and stacking the ultrafine fiber.  The ultrafine composite fiber comprises a composite fiber which is constituted of at least two polymers and is of at least one type selected from the sea-island type and the core-sheath type, in terms of type determined from fiber section.  At least one component selected from the island component and the core component has a volume resistivity of 1015 Ω·cm or lower, and at least one component selected from the sea component and the sheath component has a volume resistivity exceeding 1015 Ω·cm.  The ultrafine composite fiber is thus obtained through electro-spinning without using water or a solvent as a spinning dope.  The ultrafine composite fiber is stacked to obtain the fibrous mass.  Also provided are: a composite of a conductive substrate with the fibrous mass; and processes for producing the fibrous mass and the composite.
