Abstract:
A field bus system comprising start-up assisting means having the functions below. (1) Having means for automatically repeating recognition of all the field devices connected to a segment until on-demand communication is possible. (2) Revealing the identities (device information such as vendor name) of the devices connected to a network. (3) Explicitly showing the statuses of the field devices. (4) Automating the pre-processing (assigning, equalizing, etc.) of downloading engineering data. (5) Enabling operation using graphical display. To realize the above functions, the field bus system which downloads engineering data in the field device connected to a field bus is provided with start-up assisting means for recognizing the field devices connected to a segment and automatically displaying the information.
