Abstract:
The invention relates to electric engineering, in particular to the production of field-radiation electron sources for producing flat panel displays, light sources etc. Said invention makes it possible to develop producible and long-life coatings for field-radiation cathodes made of electroactive polyheteroaryl class polydiphenyl-phthalide- polymers which exhibit a high emission stability and reduce the production process of said cathode. In one variant, the inventive method for producing the field-radiation cathode consists in applying the polyheteroaryl class polydiphenyl-phthalide polymer solution to the surface of a conductive substrate and in producing a polymeric film which forms a field-radiation surface by means of heating the cathode at a temperature ranging from 150 to 360 °C during 0.5-24 hours. The other variants consist in removing the polymeric layer of the material on the cathode local areas until the thickness which ensures the emission properties and the formation of the polymeric film on an extraction electrode is obtained. The production of a pointing field-radiation cathode made of a metal coated with the polyheteroaryl class polydiphenyl-phthalide polymer is also disclosed.
