Abstract:
Provided is a filament production method that can use a hydrogel, which does not have the strength of native collagen gel, as the starting material. Provided is a filament that has excellent strength obtained by said production method. The filament production method comprises, in the following order: a step A for irradiating ultraviolet rays on a columnar hydrogel; a step B for vitrifying the columnar hydrogel after the ultraviolet ray irradiation to obtain a dried filamentous hydrogel; and a step C for rehydrating the dried filamentous hydrogel to obtain a filamentous vitrigel. The filament is made of a dried vitrigel, and a hydrophobic solvent is bonded thereon or impregnated therein.
