Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a file generation device and method, and a content reproduction device and method, which enable efficient access to an arbitrarily defined subsample in a sample.
Information for acquiring a subsample (tile) is disposed not by expanding sidx and ssix but by defining a general subsegment index box (gsix) that is another box behind sidx and ssix located at the top of a segment file. This disclosure is applicable, for example, to a content reproduction system provided with a content server and a content reproduction device.
