Abstract:
Provided is a fillet welding method for zinc plated steel wherein even when the zinc is vaporized because of welding heat during arc welding of zinc plated steel, vaporized zinc can be discharged rapidly into the atmosphere, and arc welding can be performed without the presence of bubbles caused by vaporized zinc within the weld metal. First, a plurality of grooves 15 provided in parallel across an entire welding region 14 for a first steel sheet 11 and a second steel sheet 12 are formed on a surface 13 of the first steel sheet 11. Next, the second steel sheet 12 is made to cross each of the grooves 15 on the first steel sheet 11 by bringing a contact surface 12A of the second steel sheet 12 into contact with a surface 13 of the first steel sheet 11. Next, the welding region 14 is arc welded in a state wherein both end parts 15A, 15B of each of the grooves 15 in the first steel sheet 11 are exposed on both sides of the second steel sheet 12.
