Abstract:

This film capacitor comprises a stack obtained by layering first resin films, each provided with a first metal layer on the surface thereof, and second resin films, each provided with a second metal layer on the surface thereof, and external electrodes formed at respective end sections of the stack, wherein: the first resin films and the second resin films are layered alternately; at one end section where one of the external electrodes is formed, the first resin films protrude further than the second resin films, the protrusion length being between 0.5 mm and 3 mm inclusive; and in a direction that is orthogonal to the layering direction of the stack and parallel to a direction corresponding to an extension from one of the end sections to the other end section of the stack where the external electrodes are formed, the Young's modulus at 150°C of the first resin film is 0.6 GPa or greater.
