Description:
A FILM CAPTURING MECHANISM DESIGNED FOR USE IN PRINTING MACHINES

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention is related to at least one capturing device for detecting the breakage of the film strip in the printing machines and for stopping its progress.

PRIOR ART

Printing can be performed to create visuals on elements such as paper, fabric, film strip, etc. Different printing types can be applied depending on the material and conditions used. Some of these may be offset printing, rotogravure printing, etc.

Rotogravure printing has been developed to be suitable for high-speed, coil-fed, rotary printing. Printing is made by copper cylinders or copper lines fixed to the line cylinders. Chrome-plated lines are used for printing in great numbers. The pattern is taken by photo on the printing line. Rotogravure printing was previously used in the monochrome printing of market additions to newspapers; however, it is also used in the printing of magazines, packaging papers and catalogues, and flexible packaging (film) in a wide variety of bright colors today.

The paper enters the pit areas of the line and receives the ink there when printed with the rotogravure process. However, the surface smoothness of the paper should be good and it should be soft and flexible to allow the line to be printed on the pit areas. Some areas will receive little or no ink when printing at high speeds, as the paper surface will not come into contact with the paper line in parts that are not smooth enough during printing.

One of the important defects in the printing machines is the breakage of the printing film. The printing film may break due to reasons such as tension, cutting, deformation, and the roll ending. In such a case, the film continues to be advanced to the printing machine and causes printing defects. In addition, the operator may experience undesirable time losses in order to process the escaped film strip end. These situations are not desirable in production and remain open to continuous improvement. As a result, all the above-mentioned problems have made it necessary to make an innovation in the relevant technical field.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is related to a printing device for use in a printing machine in order to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages and to bring new advantages to the related technical field.

It is an object of the invention to provide a capturing device for holding the broken strip in the printing machines.

The present invention is at least one capturing device for detecting the breakage of the film strip in the printing machines and for stopping its progress in order to realize all the purposes that will emerge from the abovementioned and the following detailed description. Accordingly, its innovation is that the mentioned capturing device comprises at least one first cylinder and at least one second cylinder in which the film strip is passed therebetween and which is positioned parallel to each other, configured such that at least one of the mentioned first cylinder and the mentioned second cylinder is brought closer to the other and the film strip between them is compressed, and at least one of the first cylinder or the second cylinder can be slowed down by means of a braking element. This prevents the torn film strip from advancing further in the printing machine by holding it.

A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the mentioned braking element can brake by contacting at least one brake disc provided on at least one of the first cylinder or the second cylinder. This allows the braking element to stop by leaning against the braking disc.

Another possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it is associated with at least one drive element to enable at least one of the first cylinder and the second cylinder to be moved towards the other.

Another possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it can stop the film strip depending on the signal received from at least one sensor (not shown in the drawings). Thus, it is ensured that the sensor is driven. Another possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the first cylinder and the second cylinder are also configured to simultaneously brake as they are brought closer to one another. Thus, it is ensured that the film strip is partially slowed down while stopping and then stopped.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In Figure 1 , a representative frontal view of a printing machine on which the capturing device of the invention is located is given.

In Figure 2, a representative perspective view of the capturing device of the invention is given.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In this detailed description, the subject of the invention is explained only for a better understanding of the subject with examples that do not have any limiting effect.

A representative frontal view of a printing machine (1 ) on which the capturing device (10) of the invention is located is given in Figure 1. Accordingly, the printing machine (1) is a machine configured to add visuals to a continuously flowing film strip via printing. The printing machine (1 ) mentioned in a possible embodiment of the invention is a rotogravure machine. Rotogravure printing is the carrier layer (web) method. Paper, cardboard, flexibles, packaging materials (plastic films, aluminum foil) are printed with this printing method. The common denominator that distinguishes engraving printing from other printing methods is the scrapping of the material off from a smooth, proper cylinder surface and ensuring that this surface forms an image on a layer.

A representative perspective view of the capturing device (10) of the invention is given in Figure 2. Accordingly, the capturing device (10) is configured to detect breakage in the film strip advanced to the printing machine (1) for any reason. The reason for this break may be tension, cutting, deformation, the roll ending, etc. in possible embodiments. The capturing device (10) can stop the progression of the film strip in the event that the film strip breaks. The breakage of the film strip can be detected by at least one sensor (not shown in the drawings). The capturing device (10) associated with a control unit stops the advancing of the film strip in case of detection of rupture by means of the sensor. The aforementioned control unit may be PLC capable. The capturing device (10) has at least one body (11 ). The body (11 ) is positioned between the printing machine (1 ) and the source where the film strip flows. The body (11 ) has an essentially two-piece structure, on which at least one first cylinder (12) and at least one second cylinder (13) are positioned. The mentioned first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) can essentially rotate idly, and the film strip is positioned between them. The film strip may move freely between the first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) under normal conditions. The first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) are positioned essentially parallel to each other and are configured such that at least one can be moved closer to and away from the other. In order to achieve this, at least one of the first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) is connected to a drive element (14). The drive element (14) is configured to move one of the first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) closer to and further away from the other. The drive element (14) can be provided with two cylinders to actuate the same cylinder on opposite sides of the body (11) in a possible embodiment of the invention. The drive element (14) may be an electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically driven element in the possible embodiments of the invention. The first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) are moved relative to each other so that they can contact the film strip.

In addition to the fact that the first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) can rotate idly around themselves, the rotation of at least one of them may be limited. In other words, at least one of the first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13) may be braked. In order to achieve this, a brake disc (15) is positioned on at least one of the first cylinder (12) and the second cylinder (13). The brake disc (15) rotates with the cylinder on which it is located. The brake disc (15) is also associated with at least one braking element (16). The mentioned braking element (16) contacts the brake disc (15), increasing the friction between them, and stops the brake disc (15).

In a possible use of the invention, if the film strip breaks while advancing to the printing machine (1), the sensor detects it. Depending on this detection, the control unit energizes the drive element (14) and leans at least one of the cylinders against the other. A slow braking is performed by means of the braking element (16) as this leaning motion is being performed. In this manner, the load is applied on the film strip gently, and extra deformation is prevented.

With this whole embodiment, the obligation to guide the machine again with the torn film strip in the printing machines (1) is eliminated. In this way, the time reserved by the operator for labor and the disruptions in production are eliminated. The scope of protection of the invention is specified in the attached claims and cannot be limited to those explained for exemplary purposes in this detailed description. It is evident that a person skilled in the art may create similar embodiments in light of the above- mentioned without drifting apart from the main theme of the invention.
