Abstract:
Provided is a method with which the sound of rain can be reduced easily and effectively and with which a rise in temperature due to exposure to direct sunlight can be inhibited in an already-existing building having a metal roof. The method involves: forming an intermediate coating layer having a thickness of 50 to 1000 μm on the outdoor-side surface of a metal roof of an already-existing building, the intermediate coating layer containing 30 to 300 parts by weight of inorganic fine particles dispersed in 100 parts by weight of a resin matrix derived from an urethane prepolymer; and forming a final coating layer on the intermediate coating layer, wherein the final coating layer contains an infrared-reflective powder and/or an infrared-transparent powder, and the contact angle of the formed film with water is at most 70°.
