Abstract:
Provided are a film that makes it possible to facilitate producing an optical film having exceptional optical properties and shrinkage reduction, and a method for producing an optical film in which said film is used. A film having a softening point of 63°C or lower containing a hydroxymethyl-group-containing vinyl alcohol polymer that contains vinyl alcohol units and the structural units shown by formula (1), and a method for producing an optical film having a step in which uniaxial stretching is performed using said film.
