Abstract:
In this filter device, while removing air from inside of the filter device to prevent air bubbles from occurring in a liquid, the backward flow of liquid inside the filter device can be prevented during operation of an internal combustion engine. An outflow unit, which comprises a cylindrical unit substantially having the shape of a bottomed cylinder and a back pressure valve provided inside of the cylindrical unit, is provided so as to pass through the bottom surface of a case. Further, a first hole allowing communication between the space inside of the case and the space outside of the case is formed in a lid, which is provided on an upper plate of a filter element and the case so as to cover the upper end of the case. When the back pressure valve opens (the first valve seat does not contact the valve body), communication occurs between the space inside of the filter element and the space outside of the case, via a second through-hole formed in the side surface of the cylindrical unit.
