Abstract:

Disclosed is a filter for electronic displays which contains a squarilium compound represented by the following general formula (I): (I) [wherein X represents a group expressed by the following formula (A): (A) (wherein R¹, R², R³ and R⁴ may be the same or different and respectively represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or the like, and R⁵ and R⁶ may be the same or different and respectively represent a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group or the like), and Y represents a group expressed by the following formula (C): (C) (wherein R⁹ represents a halogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group or the like, R¹⁰ represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group or the like, and n is an integer of 0-5)].
