Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a filter element and a backwashing-type filtration device with which it is possible to efficiently perform filtration across an entire filter element. [Solution] Provided is a filter element 10 installed in a filtration device W, the filter element 10 filtering a fluid flowing within the device, wherein the filter element 10 is provided with a filter material part 11 formed in a hollow cylindrical shape such that both ends are penetrated, an upper lid part 12 for closing off the upper-end part of the filter material part 11, and a swirl-flow-generating part 13 for converting the motion of the fluid flowing into the interior of the filter material part 11 to a swirl flow such that the fluid flows in a spiral along the inner-peripheral surface of the filter material part 11.
