Title:
FILTER FOR REMOVING RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE AND FILTER UNIT EMPLOYING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/109595
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A filter which removes organoiodines at a high efficiency and retains a high removal efficiency even after long-term air passing. It is a radioactive-substance-removing filter in which activated carbon fibers are used to collect a slight amount of a radioactive substance present in a gas phase. It is characterized in that the activated carbon fibers have a total acid group amount of 0.2 meq/g or smaller, the activated carbon fibers have at least one chemical substance adherent thereto, and the activated carbon fibers have an equilibrium water adsorption of 10 wt.% or less as measured at a relative humidity of 45%. Also provided is a radioactive-substance-removing filter in which a nonwoven fabric constituted of activated carbon fibers is used to collect a slight amount of a radioactive substance present in a gas phase, characterized in that the activated carbon fibers have an average single-fiber diameter of 25 µm or smaller.
