Abstract:
A method of producing a fine structure body, the method being capable of precisely controlling a position where a tubular structure made of carbon etc. is formed. A circular cylindrical projection section (11) is formed on a base plate (10). Then, a catalyst substance (20) such as iron (Fe) is adhered to the base plate (10). After that, the base plate (10) is heat-treated so that the catalyst substance (20) is melted and caused to cohere on a side face (11A) of the projection section (11). This results that an annular catalyst pattern made of the catalyst substance (20) is formed on the side face (11A) of the projection section (11). Then, a hollow-cylindrical tubular structure (30) is caused to grow using a catalyst pattern. The tubular structure (30) rises from the side face (11A) of the projection section (11) and grows to be a carbon (nano) pipe with the head (30A) open. The tubular structure (30) precisely corresponding to the position of the projection section (11) can be formed.
