Abstract:
A composite which comprises: fine particles of a block copolymer comprising a poly(ethylene glycol) chain segment and a poly(meth)acrylic ester chain segment having side chains comprising a secondary and/or tertiary amino group; and a carbon compound encapsulated therein, e.g., a fullerene or carbon nanotube optionally containing a metal enclosed therein. The composite is soluble in water and is usable as an active-oxygen scavenger. The composite is usable as a contrast medium when a metal is enclosed therein.
