Abstract:
A fingerprint recognition system configured to detect a trajectory of a finger, and a method for detecting a trajectory of a finger using the system are provided. The system includes: a covering plate; a light guide plate including a light source therein; an optical sensor between the covering plate and the light guide plate; and a processor, wherein the optical sensor is configured to sense light when the finger moves in an upper space on the covering plate and generate electronic signals based on the sensed light, and the processor is configured to form a plurality of images based on the electronic signals, and detect the trajectory of the finger based on image processing techniques. A gesture of a user may be recognized and a navigation function may be realized on an electrical device where the system is mounted.
