Abstract:

The present invention relates to a fire detection method and apparatus for accurately detecting a fire. The fire detection method includes the steps of: obtaining RGB data from an image; calculating at least one index related to the attributes of fire using the obtained RGB data; and determining the occurrence of a fire using the index.
