Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fire detection system and method capable of high-speed and large-capacity data processing, using power line communications (PLC), the system and the method being capable of stably transmitting and operating a large-capacity image signal and a low-capacity detection signal by using a high-speed PLC system, the fire detection system comprising: a fire monitoring unit for monitoring a fire at a specific location, having a mode converter for low-speed and high-speed mode conversion; and a main unit having a mode converter for low-speed and high-speed mode conversion, and receiving fire monitoring content of the fire monitoring unit so as to output information through an imaging device such that a user can confirm the fire monitoring content, wherein a frequency shift modulation (FSK) is used for PLC during the low-speed mode operation of the fire monitoring unit and the main unit, and an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) method, which is a multicarrier technique, is used for PLC during the high-speed mode operation thereof.
